Tamarack Knives is owned & operated by Tom & Cathy Dimon. 

The US Air Force moved us to Fairbanks in 1992.  In 1999 we were faced with having to leave Alaska or get out of the service.  There was no question about it, we knew we wanted to stay in Fairbanks!

After the military years, we spent 20+ years in the corporate world.  Exiting that in 2021 to start our next adventure of working for ourselves & Tamarack Knives was started! 

Over the last 30 years of living in Interior Alaska, we have maintained a small kennel of large breed working huskies.  We have used the dogs for winter camping & exploring the backcountry of Interior Alaska. 

We have hunted, fished & mushed in the Interior of Alaska for 30 years now.  In that time, we have carried a variety of knives and have found some of the best to carry.  We are hoping to provide quality knives for every day use whether that is for every day carry (EDC), hunting, camping, fishing or in the kitchen. 

We also have a  personal collection of knives that we enjoy showing to others and talking about. We always have coffee & a place to visit with us and our inside crew of dogs & cats.  

We envision Tamarack Knives to be a small shop that specializes in knives & outdoor gear to fit your needs with the best quality and best customer service in the Interior.
